List of People Who Died In Raid on Ransome & Marles in 1941

2, Wilfred Evelyn Andrews, aged 39 – uncle of current Coddington resident, Maureen Andrews. Lived at 48 Chestnut Avenue  Newark. Buried in Newark Cemetery 11.3.1941, ED303.
 
3, Olive Ash, aged 31, of 14 Portland Street Newark, died after admission to hospital. Buried in Newark Cemetery 14.03.1941, no stone found. EK253
 
4, Bertie Augustus Ball, aged 18, of 6 Newstead Avenue Newark. Buried in Newark Cemetery 13.03.1941, no stone or marking found. EQ207
 
5, Ernest Patrick Beale aged 27, Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment,Private), of 38 Appletongate Newark, died after admission to hospital. Buried in Newark Cemetery 13.03.1941, no stone or marking found. WG288
 
6, Edward Beaver, aged 26, of 15 Roseberry Hill Mansfield, died after admission to hospital. No record found of burial.

14, George William Godridge, aged 29, of 28 Lime Grove Newark, died after admission to hospital.   Buried in Newark Cemetery 14.03.1941, no stone or marking found. EH247
 
15, Robert B Grant, aged 47, of 3 Sleaford Road Newark. Buried in Newark Cemetery. EG237. His son Chris was only five when his Father died – he became Newark town mayor 50 years later in 1991-1992.
 
16, John Henry Green, aged 55, Volunteer Home Guard, 11th Nottinghamshire (Newark), of 9 Marton Road Newark. Buried in Newark Cemetery 11.03.1941. WG308
 
17, Horace Grocock, aged 47, of 115 Millgate Newark, died after admission to hospital. Buried In Barnby in the Willows. There have been a number of people of this surname living in Coddington.
